Have you heard about the Irish man walking around the world?
Some people stand up when faced with adversity and do great things against all the odds.
Tony Mangan is from the heart of Dublin (the Liberties) and he is walking around the world to spread a message for cancer awareness that "Life is precious, early checking saves lives". Having already walked across much of Europe, Tony is currently in Latvia with the daunting prospect of Russia and Mongolia ahead.
Needless to say, I'm a big fan of this type of travel and these
ridiculously big adventures but also for what lies beneath the exterior
of this amazing journey, for Tony lost his mother to cancer in recent
years and this was no doubt a hugely motivating factor behind the walk.
Although there is no consolation at the time of loss, Tony's grand adventure is surely a reminder that when somebody you love has to leave this world, it is not the end, for great things will often transpire from even the darkest times.
